General usage information

BLAST+, the new version of the Basic Local Alignment Search Tool searches one or more nucleic acid or protein databases for sequences similar to one or more query sequences of any type

This module will add the various blast commands to your PATH.

The following environmental variables have been defined:

  • \$BLASTPLUS_ROOT has been set to the root of the blast-plus installation
  • \$BLASTPLUS_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
  • \$BLASTPLUS_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files

You will probably wish to use these by adding the following flags to your compilation command (e.g. to CFLAGS in your Makefile):

  • -I\$BLASTPLUS_INCDIR
and the following flags to your link command (e.g. LDFLAGS in your Makefile):
  • -L\$BLASTPLUS_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,\$BLASTPLUS_LIBDIR
