The University of Maryland has been hosting a booth at the annual Supercomputing conference since 2016. The SC conferences bring together scientists, engineers, and researchers from the international community with a technical program full of presentations and tutorials. It is an excellent setting to meet other like-minded individuals with whom you can learn and share information as well as present you research. For more information on the conferences, see the SC Conference Series web site, which includes links to the web site for the upcoming conference. We encourage researchers on the University's HPC resources to consider attending. If you do attend, please drop by our booth (just look for the giant terrapin suspended from the ceiling).
UMD's presence with a booth at these conferences serves to showcase the broad range and depth of research being done with the aid of High Performance computing at this university, and marks Maryland as a significant participant in this realm. It also advertises the University and its computing resources to prospective graduate students, post doctoral associates, and faculty members. To this end, we are always seeking new research to display. If you are planning on attending the conference, please consider giving a short 15-20 minute talk at our booth about your research. If you are unable to attend but have posters, short videos, or power point slides that show off your work, we would be interested in having those on display at our booth as well. In either case, please contact systems staff if you are interested.
For more information on the conferences, see the SC Conference Series web site, which includes links to the web site for the upcoming conference, along with the technical program, registration information and deadlines.
