General usage information

The CFD General Notation System (CGNS) provides a general, portable, and extensible standard for the storage and retrieval of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis data. It consists of a collection of conventions, and free and open software implementing those conventions. It is self-descriptive, machine-independent, well-documented, and administered by an international steering committee.

This module will add the various cgns* commands to your PATH.

In case you need to link against this library in your code, the following environmental variables have been defined:

  • \$CGNS_ROOT has been set to the root of the cgns installation
  • \$CGNS_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
  • \$CGNS_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files

You will probably wish to use these by adding the following flags to your compilation command (e.g. to CFLAGS in your Makefile):

  • -I\$CGNS_INCDIR
and the following flags to your link command (e.g. LDFLAGS in your Makefile):
  • -L\$CGNS_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,\$CGNS_LIBDIR
