General usage information

FreeType is a freely available software library to render fonts. It is written in C, designed to be small, efficient, highly customizable, and portable while capable of producing high-quality output (glyph images) of most vector and bitmap font formats.

The following environmental variables have been defined:

• \$FREETYPE_ROOT has been set to the root of the freetype installation
• \$FREETYPE_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
• \$FREETYPE_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files

You will probably wish to use these by adding the following flags to your compilation command (e.g. to CFLAGS in your Makefile):

• -I\$FREETYPE_INCDIR

and the following flags to your link command (e.g. LDFLAGS in your Makefile):

• -L\$FREETYPE_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,\$FREETYPE_LIBDIR
