General usage information
Silo is a library for reading and writing a wide variety of scientific data to binary, disk files. The files Silo produces and the data within them can be easily shared and exchanged between wholly independently developed applications running on disparate computing platforms.
In case you need to link against this library in your code, the following environmental variables have been defined:
- \$SILO_ROOT has been set to the root of the silo installation
- \$SILO_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
- \$SILO_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files
You will probably wish to use these by adding the following flags to your compilation command (e.g. to CFLAGS in your Makefile):
- -I\$SILO_INCDIR
- -L\$SILO_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,\$SILO_LIBDIR${endlist}
