General Usage
HDF-EOS (Hierarchical Data Format for Earth Observing System) is a self-describing file format based upon HDF for standard data products that are derived from EOS missions.
HSF-EOS5 is based upon HDF version 5. See HDF-EOS2 for the version based on HDF version 4.
The following environmental variables have been defined:
- $HDFEOS5_ROOT has been set to the root of the hdf-eos5 installation
- $HDFEOS5_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
- $HDFEOS5_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files
You will probably wish to use these by adding the following flags to your compilation command (e.g. to CFLAGS in your Makefile):
- -I$HDFEOS5_INCDIR
and the following flags to your link command (e.g. LDFLAGS in your Makefile):
- -L$HDFEOS5_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,$HDFEOS5_LIBDIR
