General Usage

The Nvidia High-Performance Computing (HPC) Software Development Kit (SDK) is a suite of compilers, libraries and software tools useful for HPC applications. This module will add the compilers to your PATH, including

    :

  • C compiler nvc
  • C++ compiler nvc++
  • Fortran compiler nvfortran

The suite includes the NSight profiler, which this module will also add to your PATH (as nsys and nsys-ui). The suite also includes CUDA, BLAS and LAPACK libraries.

The following environmental variables have been defined:

  • $NVHPC_BLASLAPACK_ROOT has been set to the root of the nvhpc installation
  • $NVHPC_BLASLAPACK_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
  • $NVHPC_BLASLAPACK_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files

You will probably wish to use these by adding the following flags to your compilation command (e.g. to CFLAGS in your Makefile):

  • -I$NVHPC_BLASLAPACK_INCDIR

and the following flags to your link command (e.g. LDFLAGS in your Makefile):

  • -L$NVHPC_BLASLAPACK_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,$NVHPC_BLASLAPACK_LIBDIR

  • $NVHPC_CUDA_ROOT has been set to the root of the nvhpc installation
  • $NVHPC_CUDA_LIBDIR points to the directory containing the libraries
  • $NVHPC_CUDA_INCDIR points to the directory containing the header files

  • -I$NVHPC_CUDA_INCDIR

and the following flags to your link command (e.g. LDFLAGS in your Makefile):

  • -L$NVHPC_CUDA_LIBDIR -Wl,-rpath,$NVHPC_CUDA_LIBDIR

The suite also includes an MPI library, but that is only enabled with the use of the addtional module nvmpi.
